Susanna Clarke

Englishwoman Susanna Clarke is the author of the almost universally praised novel Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell (the subject of one of our Book of the Week reviews) as well as a handful of short stories, some of which are set in the same world as the Strange and Norrell story and some of which are available for free here. And if the almost 800-page-long novel and assorted short stories she's already written just aren't enough for you, never fear: Ms. Clarke's next novel is a semi-sequel to Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell that will revisit some of the characters from the first book.
