There's a hair/heir pun here somewhere...

Man, I gotta start watching Antiques Roadshow. It sounds exciting: according to Jezebel, a recent episode featured a woman who found a ring in her recently-deceased father-in-law’s attic, locked inside a "mysterious-looking" box. The ring was inscribed with Charlotte Bronte's name and the date of her death, and appears to contain a lock of the author's hair (which: gross, but very period-appropriate). If that turns out to be accurate, the appraiser valued the ring at $26K, which is a pretty big incentive to be careful when cleaning out our elderly relatives' attics.
