The Marvel juggernaut rolls on

I was pleased to learn that ABC has chosen to renew Marvel's Agent Carter, but I can't help but wonder if Marvel worked out some kind of deal with the network in an effort to improve their current reputation re: female characters. (And if that happens to actually be the case, allow me to say: it's not enough, guys.) Agents of SHIELD was renewed, too, despite being generally terrible, but that's much less of a surprise.
