Okay, this makes me a little sad. It's the 150th anniversary of my beloved Alice in Wonderland, and Puffin Books is celebrating with a new edition illustrated by Rifle Paper Co. founder Anna Bond. Don't get me wrong: I love Bond's work, but it's so tasteful. Alice in Wonderland is many things, but Martha Stewart-esque it isn't. I'll buy this copy, because I collect Alice editions, but I honestly feel that the editions featuring illustrations by Ralph Steadman or Camille Rose Garcia are better suited to Carroll's work.
