Surrealism, food, and sex: a recipe guide
Nov 20

The Huffington Post recently featured a fascinating description of Les Diners de Gala, Salvador Dali's 1973 "erotic cookbook". I can think of few artists whose vision I find less erotic than Dali's, but maybe food was his one true medium? I sincerely love the cover, although both the interior photograph and the sample recipe (for something called a "Casanova Cocktail") do not speak to me, no do Dali's food lithographs, which appear to have names like "Sputniks Polished by Statistical Maggots".
...y'know, I bet Salvador Dali was unbearable at parties.
