More John Christopher

According to Publishers Weekly, the late science fiction author John Christopher is having his backlist digitized and several of his older books republished, including his famous Tripods trilogy from the late sixties. Mr. Christopher (whose real name was Sam Youd) died last year at age 89, but I exchanged several letters with him a few years ago–a correspondence that began after I wrote a post about the serious lack of female characters in the Tripods series–and I thought he was awesome: thoughtful, articulate, and funny. I'm still bummed out about the lack of girls in his books, but I'm happy his stories will continue to be available.
