Signs of life from L.J. Smith

I was looking up information on the CW's upcoming spin-off series The Originals, which will kick off with a "back-door pilot" episode of The Vampire Diaries airing on April 25th. I wanted to see if L.J. Smith (the original author of The Vampire Diaries) was going to be involved, so I made one of my infrequent visits to her delightfully hokey website. Sadly, I see her new-found fame has toned down the glitz (at least a little), and I couldn't find any news about The Originals, but she did finally share some information about her upcoming book The Last Lullaby, which she's been teasing for a couple of years now and describes as "a very adult YA book". I have no idea when (if ever) we'll actually see this book—Smith is not known for her speed—but I'm looking forward to reading it. Smith has dabbled with "very adult" ideas before (particularly with the twisted relationship featured in her Forbidden Game series), and I'm interested to see what she'll do outside the boundaries of a PG-13 format.
