Here's hoping...

I'm unsure as to whether I should think of this news as a sign of the upcoming apocalypse, or proof that God loves me, but MTV announced yesterday that Britney Spears is in "discussions" with HarperCollins to publish her first novel. I treasure this thought, obviously, but I would really prefer a thinly-disguised trashtalking "novel" like Nicole Richie's The Truth About Diamonds to, say, the kind of syrupy YA books being churned out by Lauren Conrad.
