The best book day of the year?
Oct 1
2012
Publishers Weekly is naming tomorrow, October 2nd, as the Best Book Day of 2012. They've got a list of 32(!) new releases coming out tomorrow that they're seriously excited about. I won't be charging out to buy all (or even most) of their choices, but the list features something for a wide variety of literary tastes.
(Personally, I'm devoting tomorrow to reading The Mark of Athena, but I'm pretty excited about that Wrinkle in Time graphic novel, too.)
Note: I'm finding that the phrase "chick lit", which I had hoped was dying out, continues to make me want to punch someone in the face. This is not a comment on PW's particular "Chick Lit Die-Hard" pick (which I haven't read), but an expression of how much I resent having all female-oriented romantic comedies reduced to one specific sub-genre: stories about women who are romantically—and frequently professionally—inept. LET THIS PHRASE DIE, PLEASE, PUBLISHERS WEEKLY. IT'S TIME.
