She's obviously not retiring any time soon

According to PublishersWeekly, Janet Evanovich has signed an eight-book deal with Random House, agreeing to churn out four more books in her bestselling Stephanie Plum series and four books in a new series that will be co-written with some dude named Lee Goldberg. (I've never heard of him, but he wrote a series called "Diagnosis Murder" and several bestsellers based on the TV show Monk, if that helps any of you.) The new series won't be released until late next year, but apparently follows an FBI agent named Kate Winslow and a fugitive named Danny Cole. Random House is describing it as "a thrilling combination of crime, romance, and adventure", which... well, I'll believe it when I see it. I'm very fond of the Stephanie Plum series (at least the earlier books), but find the rest of Evanovich's work pretty snooze-worthy.
