Lauren Mechling is the New York-based co-author (with Laura Moser) of the "10th Grade Social Climber" series, and the (sole) author of Dream Girl, one of our Featured Book titles.

Aftertaste:
Dream Girl tacks on one of those totally unnecessary "A Novel" subheadings. This might be an important clarification for books like A Short History of Tractors In Ukrainian, but it just looks like faux-intellectual posing on a book with pretty pink cover art featuring a bizarrely dressed teenage girl surrounded by a bunch of floating rose/peony things. Trust me: we know it's fiction.
