M. T. Anderson

M. T. Anderson’s self-described “thrilling tales” are sure to delight anyone with a nodding familiarity with kids’ detective fiction. Whales on Stilts! and The Attack of the Linoleum Lederhosen poke fun at pretty much every kid-sleuth series ever written, while Anderson’s plots feature a dizzying mix of The Blob and Scooby Doo. This series is ridiculously entertaining (check out this Wordcandy Weekly Book Snippet from early August, featuring Whales on Stilts!), and both children and adults will enjoy it.

Aftertaste:
There's an "action sequence" in the second book that is very clever, but totally revolting.
