If you don't know who J. K. Rowling is, you've been living under a rock. If you have rejected reading her books out of a knee-jerk reaction to their overwhelming popularity or the belief that no adult could enjoy a kids' book, you're shooting yourself in the foot. Not only are these books tremendously enjoyable, but everyone should read at least the first
Harry Potter story. It is one of the requirements for cultural literacy.

The best part of any of these books is always the part that Harry spends at the Dursley's. I can skim the rest.

The books a pretty good, but they've been getting darker as the series progresses. And if she kills off another well loved character (& I know she will) like she did in Order of the Phoenix, I will die.
