Caitlin Kittredge is the author of
The Iron Thorn, one of our
Featured Books and the first title in a new steampunk/horror series aimed at teens. I had significant complaints about
The Iron Thorn (some of which I mentioned in the review, and some of which—like the book's eye-catching but otherwise inexplicable "disheveled gypsy girl" cover art—I managed to forgive*), but it was still a totally fun read.
*I realize this forbearance in matters of cover art is unlike me. It might have something to do with the fact that Kittredge lived in my hometown of Olympia, WA, and is therefore guaranteed my support. Go, Ms. Kittredge! I hope you sell a million books!
Aftertaste:There's a rumor that the plot description on the back cover of one of Ms. Kittredge's books is for a totally different story, but I haven't personally verified this.
