Eloisa James is the pen name of Mary Bly, a professor of Shakespeare and Renaissance studies at Fordham University. Ms. James is one of the few absolutely reliable writers of historical romances. Her books are well-written, entertaining, and amazingly free of suspension-of-disbelief-killing anachronisms. I have, admittedly, expressed some
concerns about Ms. James's interactions with the media, but those have nothing to do with her very considerable writing talent.
