Ban bans

According to NPR, Illinois recently became the first state in the nation to ban banning books. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed the state's new law in Chicago's Harold Washington Library last week. It requires public and public school libraries to adopt the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights. Failure to comply will lead to a loss of grant funding. No state Republicans supported the bill, which takes effect in January.
