Was literally everyone else busy?

Well, the first teaser trailer is out for Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff & D.B. Weiss's adaptation of Cixin Liu's novel The Three Body Problem, and it looks... expensive. Netflix clearly dug deep into the old couch cushions for this one. Unfortunately, based on Benioff and Weiss's previous work, do I trust them to handle cultural issues with sensitivity? No. Am I confident about their ability to deliver a satisfying storyline from start to finish? No. Can I count on them to tell a woman-centered narrative with nuance and grace? Not really. The one thing I WOULD put money on, however, is their ability to deliver a stomach-churning torture scene, and frankly the most notable torture scene in Liu's novel is already pretty horrifying without seeing it in glorious technicolor.
