Waaay behind the scenes

As a staunch anti-monarchist (throw 'em all out; make them ALL sell their sob stories to Oprah), I am not the target audience for Harry Windsor's new memoir. I am, however, always in the market for obscure literary gossip, so I richly enjoyed this article on LaineyGossip about Martin Pengelly, the breaking news editor for The Guardian who apparently has a long hot streak of scooping major book releases. I have no idea how he gets access to these books, but I'm choosing to envision a secretive exchange in a parking garage, involving people in shadowy hats slipping one another prospective best-sellers in unmarked packages.
