New bit of an old story

According to the Japan Times, a manuscript containing a missing scene from The Tale of Genji was recently discovered among the heirlooms of the family of a former feudal lord. (The Tale of Genji is considered to be the world's first novel. The original manuscript no longer exists; the story has been slowly cobbled together based on various copies.) Experts have confirmed the authenticity of the fragment, which is believed to have been compiled and some point between 1185 and 1333.
