Soapy!

I have watched the first four episodes of Netflix's new show The Society (billed as a modern YA take on The Lord of the Flies, but with a supernatural twist), and I am giving it a somewhat wobbly thumbs-up. It took me two full episodes to be able to tell most of the characters apart (the Elle and Allie actresses were particularly confusing), and I don't fully trust Netflix to keep renewing this series until it achieves a satisfying resolution, but otherwise I am fully invested in the idea of taking a classic book and turning it into an exceedingly soapy teen sci-fi show.
