In honor of William Goldman, who died at age 87 last month, Slate published a loving tribute to The Princess Bride—both Goldman's novel, and his skillful adaption into the beloved 1987 film of the same name. Like most American children of the 80s, I've seen The Princess Bride enough to quote it, but this article left me with a strong desire to re-read the book. I remember thinking it was a little aggressively twee, but maybe I was too harsh...?
