According to the Gloucester Times, a 12-year-old girl named Megan Gething used information gleaned from her reading of The Hunger Games to create a tourniquet for a friend who had sliced her leg open. (The injured child had slipped while playing in a marsh, cutting her leg on a metal pipe and leaving a "10-inch long, 3-inch wide gash".) Props to Megan for her quick thinking, although here's hoping she and her friends find a safer place to hang out.
