Wow.

Somebody bought a Tintin illustration for 1.55 million euros, apparently. Seems reasonable! The image (from the popular Tintin adventure Explorers on the Moon) fetched the highest amount ever for a single cartoon drawing, well above the estimated price of €700,000 and €900,000. The sale happened at the perfect time: Hergé is currently the subject of a huge retrospective exhibition at the Grand Palais.
