Missed opportunity

io9 recently introduced me to this brief look at the concept footage for a movie adaptation of H.G. Wells's War of the Worlds, featuring the work of legendary filmmaker and stop-motion animator Ray Harryhausen. Sadly, this version of the story was never filmed, so we'll just have to use our imaginations to picture how gloriously hokey it would have been.
