Leave well enough alone

The first pictures of the in-character cast are out for the upcoming stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and everybody looks spectacular. Of course, creating lush visuals has never been Rowling's problem—I'm more concerned about her seeming inability to stop fiddling with her own creations, and the fact that she describes this play as a "tearjerker" makes me nervous. (Seriously, she's like a bright kid taking a test who keeps second-guessing her correct answers.) The play begins preview performances on June 7 at London’s Palace Theatre, and Scholastic will release the script book of Cursed Child on July 31.
