How? Why?

According to the Guardian, the original hand-corrected manuscript of Jacqueline Susann’s 1966 novel Valley of the Dolls is going up for auction in California, where it is expected to sell for between $25,000 and $50,000. As far as I'm concerned, the best thing (by far) about Valley of the Dolls is its cover art, which this version presumably lacks, making that expected selling point even more mind-boggling.
