How nice?

NPR recently posted an article about Forrest Fenn's The Thrill of the Chase, a self-published book of poetry that allegedly holds the clues to the location of a box of buried treasure. Fenn, a millionaire art dealer based in Santa Fe, claims that he "hid the box in the midst of the Great Recession to cheer folks up and to get them off their couches and into the great outdoors." Thousands of people have gone hunting for the treasure (one person may have died)... and while I'm assuming they've seen far more of the great outdoors than they would have otherwise, I'm also assuming they did a tremendous amount of environmental damage while they were at it. Thanks, Mr. Fenn!
