Wasteful

While poking around a local bookstore, I finally had a chance to see Penguin's Classics Deluxe edition of Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. The cover art is absolutely gorgeous, and I was immediately tempted to buy it... until I saw the price ($25! For a paperback!) and felt the weight (3 pounds! Also for a paperback!). Seriously, no one loves these editions like I do, but who does Penguin think they're kidding? There is no way a nearly 1,500 page-long-paperback is going to hold up beyond, like, one reading, and there is no cover art on God's Green earth pretty enough to shell out $25 for a single-use book.
