Jane Austen in wax

Speaking of Jane Austen, the Jane Austen Centre at Bath recently unveiled a wax figure of Jane Austen, created by sculptor Mark Richards and inspired by Melissa Dring’s forensic painting of Austen. I'm always terrified by wax sculptures (I find their glass eyes deeply creepifying), and this one is no different, but it's a respectable effort. Austen Blog pointed out that the final result bears a vague resemblance to the actress Anna Chancellor, who played Caroline Bingley in the 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice and is descended from Jane’s brother Edward, so that lends some hope that the artist got it right.
