Ah, Stockholm Syndrome...

According to Variety, Disney has hired Bill Condon (of Dreamgirls and both Twilight: Breaking Dawn films) to direct a live-action version of Beauty and the Beast. This seems like a verrrry bad idea. I mean, I don't want to knock Mr. Condon's skills—anyone who could make Breaking Dawn into an even semi-respectable film deserves my respect—but the idea of, say, Chloë Moretz being alternately screamed at and wooed by a CGI Beast is not working for me.
