NPR recently posted an article about the difficulty schools are having in finding textbooks that qualify as meeting the "Common Core State Standards"—the new educational benchmarks that 44 states and the District of Columbia have adopted. It's a fascinating look at the difficulty of finding textbooks to meet specific educational needs—those suckers aren't changed (or at least improved) overnight, but that hasn't stopped loads of publishers from slapping a sticker on them assuring educators that the books are "common-core aligned".
