We're overdue, really.

io9 recently compiled a list of 10 Science Fiction and Fantasy Stories that Editors are Tired of Seeing. My thoughts:

A) Sorry, editors, but people are going keep on submitting retold fairytales until the end of time.

B) Wow, I had no idea that the market was so saturated with mermaid stories. (Come to think of it, I did review this series, and I know I declined at least one other mermaid book, but they weren't particularly memorable.)

I'm hoping the next big thing is the monsters of my own cultural heritage: Czech Vodníci. Seriously, you guys, nobody does creepy like the Czechs.
