Sci-fi fans get some exercise in

There's going to be an "organized Logan's Run chase" this weekend in San Francisco, with some participants designated as Runners and some as Sandmen. According to the official Facebook page, this event will be "an epic live-action street game" involving "1-2 miles of walking... [and] brief periods of running and chasing, but players of all levels of athletic ability will enjoy themselves." Tickets aren't cheap ($20 for Runners and $50 for Sandmen, plus fees), but fans of William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson's novel or its 1976 film adaptation are shelling out for them anyway—as of this writing, there are only about 35 tickets left.
