A step towards awareness

I am ridiculously excited by this idea: Sweden is introducing a new rating to its movie theaters based on the famous "Bechdel test", which requires a movie (or book or TV show or whatever) to include:

A) Two named female characters...
B) Who have a conversation with each other...
C) About something other than a guy.

To give you an idea of how rare this is, there's a quote in the linked article from a movie theater director named Ellen Tejle: "The entire Lord of the Rings trilogy, all Star Wars movies, The Social Network, Pulp Fiction and all but one of the Harry Potter movies fail this test." The rating system is still in its infancy, but I fully approve of the effort.
