According to Publishers Weekly, Scholastic is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the publication of the first Harry Potter book with a contest. To enter, public librarians have been asked to plan an event to be held at their libraries in celebration of the anniversary. 15 winners will receive 100 copies of the new trade paperback edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone featuring cover art by Kazu Kibuishi, a Kibuishi-signed copy of the new boxed set, a $100 gift card to help defray the costs of the party, and an event kit with sticker sheets, name tags, bookmarks, and activities. The winners will be announced on July 31st (Harry’s birthday), and the parties will be held on August 27th (the U.S. publication date of new editions).
