The first trailer is out for the film adaptation of Orson Scott Card's novel Ender's Game, but any appeal the movie might have held for me is trumped by Card's long history of being a jackass. Details of his jackassery can be found here, although the article is actually limited in scope: the author focuses on Card's homophobia and dislike of fanfiction (except for the fanfiction he wrote, of course, which I'm sure was literary gold), but doesn't mention the utterly amazing essay Card wrote for the "Author's Definitive Edition" of Ender's Game, explaining that anyone who didn't think the book was a work of genius simply wasn't smart enough to appreciate it.

...okay, I'm paraphrasing. But not by much, seriously.
