Vintage cyborgs

Speaking of serialized stories, science fiction fans can now read the first chapter of British author E.V. Odle's 1923 little-known novel The Clockwork Man, which is apparently the earliest story to feature a cyborg.

I did note, however, that one of the comments on this io9 post suggests that Edgar Allan Poe's The Man That Was Used Up is really the oldest cyborg story, but I'll have to take their word for it. (I really dislike reading stuff on Project Gutenberg.)
