A fitting tribute

I had planned (and still intend to post, but on Monday) a review of the three books in Amber Kizer's Meridian series, but then Megan pointed out that today's Google Doodle is honoring my beloved Edward Gorey, and it was too magnificent to go unmentioned. Full props to whoever designed the image, as it manages to tip its hat to a variety of Gorey's favorite themes, font styles, and colors. All it really needed was an anemic-looking ballerina, some swooning women, and couple of bats, and most of his oeuvre would be present.
