A "kid" movie, appropriate for actual kids?

I thought the trailers looked God-awful, but the response to Mirror Mirror is actually mixed, and includes several downright glowing reviews from some very respectable sources. (The NPR critic described it as "a bundle of high style and sharp wit and terrific performances", which, if true, is more than I usually ask for from my movie-going experiences.) This comes as a considerable relief, seeing as both Megan and my mother have been holding the threat of this movie over my head like the sword of Damocles.
