Another day, another dystopian YA series.
According to THR, the CW is getting into the exceptionally-grim-teen-book game with a television adaptation of Kiera Cass's upcoming novel The Selection, which the article describes as "[the story of] a poor young woman who is chosen by lottery to participate in a competition to become the next queen of a war-torn nation at a crossroads".
Sounds... expensive. Does the CW really have the budget for this kind of thing? Or are they just going to recycle their Gossip Girl wardrobe with some futuristic re-touching?
