Kiyohiko Azuma

Kiyohiko Azuma is the author of two highly entertaining manga titles: Azumanga Daioh and Yotsuba&!. Azuma’s books are funny and innocent, with most of the humor in the stories coming from his talent for creating bizarre (but very sweet) characters.

Note: Azumanga Daioh was made into a delightful anime series by ADV Films. We put it in the #2 spot on our list of Favorite Book-to-Screen Adaptations.

Note #2: Azuma also wrote a “dōjinshi”- a fanfiction-style manga based on the popular series Tenshi Muyo!.


Aftertaste:
Well, he IS a Tenchi Muyo! fan... but we'll just have to forgive him.

UPDATE: ADV appears to have slipped into the black hole of bankruptcy, so we have no idea when or if more Yotsuba&! volumes will be released in the US.
